Harnessing Data: Analytics and Insights for Nonprofits

Justin works with nonprofits to create tangible, sustainable change in a world with limited technology and resources. His expertise spans fundraising & marketing operations; organizational development and design; CRM strategy and Salesforce; business process analysis and workflow engineering; data governance and analytics enablement; workshop design and facilitation; and leadership development coaching. He has held leadership and strategy roles at the ACLU and The Pew Charitable Trusts, focused on providing organizations with the tools to promote human-centric, data-informed decision making across fundraising, grantmaking, and digital engagement. Before founding Skeleton Key in 2022, he served as Vice President of Consulting for nonprofit Organizational Development firm Cause Craft Consulting. He holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania which has given him a unique ability to pair organizational strategy with thoughtful, holistic technology change.

Nathan has spent his career helping nonprofits build modern data programs from the ground up. Today, he leads nonprofit partnerships and strategy at Civis Analytics, where he has supported organizations including Feeding America and Doctors Without Borders in adopting best practices around data warehousing, predictive modeling and business intelligence. Prior to Civis, Nathan was was part of the founding team at EveryAction where he supported large and small organizations in adopting multi-channel CRM technology to support their fundraising, membership and mass marketing programs.

Natalie helps Kanopi and a variety of clients tell their story online. Her writing career began 13 years ago in the busy press office of a consumer rights organization in London, England. That’s where her love of storytelling began. She’s helped the UK Government, American corporations, and nonprofits in the UK & Canada define what they want to say, how to say it and where so it’s heard by the people that matter. Natalie’s passion for user-centred design is reflected in the content she crafts and she’s been awarded for it.

When she’s not writing blogs and landing pages or developing content strategies, she can be found in her garden tending to her tomato plants.

David is a former Venture for America Fellow who is passionate about analytics, entrepreneurship, and mental health. They currently work at Brooklyn Data Co -- a full-stack data analytics-as-a-service consultancy -- but previously built out the data stack at The Trevor Project, the nation's largest suicide prevention service for LGBTQ+ young people. The mission of The Trevor Project is still near and dear to their heart, and inspires David to imagine how data can be used to inform and architect more just systems for the most vulnerable populations. When David's not sharpening their data skills at Brooklyn Data, you can find them on the tennis court or thrifting.
